The main objective of the Digital Success Program is to increase the number of internet users among the population. To this end a lot of measures have been taken recently. For example, serious developments are taking place to make wide-band internet access available at every location over the country. The Digital Success Software Package aims to decrease the cost of internet services for those who have not connected to the Internet due to financial limitations. There are also local initiatives to supply citizens with IT devices. The Digital Success Program, as an integrated government programme covering the entire digital ecosystem, aims to contribute to the preparation of Hungary to benefit from the inevitable and accelerating digital evolution.
An important part of the Digital Success Program is the development of the Digital Success Software Package. The Digital Success Software Package represents a software package that is easily accessible for everyone, is supported by the government and enables its users to manage their public administration affairs electronically while also being in line with modern user experience trends.
The concept of the Digital Success Software Package relies on the digital evolution of the citizens by helping them develop their digital skills. This project also intends to support the digital industry of Hungary by providing available low-cost software packages. To provide free user support by the government and, whenever it is possible, to cooperate with national small and medium sized enterprises during the development of the Digital Success Software Package.

The Digital Success Software Package should be based on open source software and open standards. Open source software allows us to modify the software on source code level in order to add new features as well as providing us with more accessible interfaces and with long term compatibility.

The Digital Success Software Package project should encourage the use of electronic public administration among citizens. The guided collaboration with national IT enterprises ensures the compatibility of the developed features with the public administration interfaces.
With all these in mind, the first milestone of the Digital Success Software Package was reached by 2020. The Digital Success Software Package is a customized Linux distribution that can be installed and used intuitively even by complete beginners using the video guides provided with the product. The open source software based on open standards used in the Digital Success Software Package aims to be a real alternative to closed code software, like Windows or Mac OS operation systems. The widespread use of open source technologies is closely related to the maturity of the informational society. The community-based development model of open source software products enables one to freely choose between software and thus overcome the restrictions that closed code software pose on us. The purpose of the Digital Success Software Package is to supply citizens with reliable open source software systems adjusted to meet the requirements needed for both business and public administration.
